Saskatoon police say officers responded to a report of a male threatening a woman with a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

This was around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at a parking lot in the 2900 block of 8th Street East.

Police say the suspect and victim were not known to one another and officers located a suspect nearby matching the description they’d been given. He was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

In a news release police say a search of the suspect turned up a conducted energy weapon and bottles of alcohol.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon dangerous to public peace, unauthorized carry of a concealed prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with court-imposed conditions.
