SIRT is investigating an arrest of a man wanted on warrants by RCMP.

On Saturday RCMP executed a warrant on a home on 107th Street in North Battleford after a man, wanted on warrants from investigations in March and October in 2023, refused to exit the building.

A suspect was found hiding in the attic and was arrested. In a news release the RCMP say he went into medical distress and was taken to hospital by EMS.

Because the 31-year-old man went into medical distress and requires treatment in hospital, as required by The Police Act, Saskatchewan RCMP notified the Saskatchewan Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).

North Battleford RCMP’s interaction with the 31-year-old male and the circumstances of his injuries will be investigated.
