Some parts of Saskatchewan had had a very light spring runoff—-but that is not the case in the Saskatoon region.
We have seen pictures and heard reports of flooding and road washouts from the following rural municipalities—Vanscoy, Perdue, Montrose and Aberdeen—and there are likely many more.
In addition to the road washouts and flooding, there were two grass fires that went out of control on Monday in the Pike Lake and Asquith areas. As a result, the RM of Vanscoy council placed a ban on all burning starting at 12:01am on Tuesday.
CJWW Agriculture Director Neil Billinger spoke to RM of Vanscoy Reeve Leonard Junop late Monday afternoon.
