Hunter Laing broke a 2-2 tie just 2:07 into the third period as Saskatoon won for a 12th time this season when tied after two periods. Laing scored a second goal as he reached 21 for the season, and 11 since being acquired from the Bridge City Bunch. The 18-year-old Kelowna product also assisted on Hudson Kibblewhite’s game-opening goal and Cooper Williams chipped in a pair of helpers. After a scoreless opening period, the Blue and Gold scored on both halves of a four-minute slew foot double-minor penalty, the last of only four power play chances in the game in what was a fast-paced, intense, playoff-type of battle. Aiden Oiring and Evan Smith replied for the 34-21-6 Raiders, who out-shot the 32-21-7 Blades 43-37.
