Earlier this month, Humboldt conservation officers seized illegally harvested wildlife and has donated that meat to the local food bank. A social media post from the provincial government says whenever possible, any meat that is seized is donated to food banks and local First Nations to put it to good use in the communities that conservation officers service. On February 12th, conservation officers delivered 150 pounds of seized moose meat to the Humboldt Food Bank. It had been unlawfully harvested last fall and tested negative for chronic wasting disease.
