The grand opening of three affordable housing projects in Île-à-la-Crosse, Meadow Lake and Lloydminster is taking place this week.

Metis Nation-Saskatchewan is responsible for the new projects, which will see two multi-family rental duplexes open in Meadow Lake on Monday, six affordable rental units become available in Île-à-la-Crosse, and four senior rental units will welcome their tenants home the following day in Lloydminster.

The $1.5 million Île-à-la-Crosse development was first announced in March of 2023 as an 8-unit project.

The other two projects were announced together in May of last year, and a budget of $2 million was set aside.
