National Ski and Snowboard Day is tomorrow (Fri), as declared by the Canadian Ski Council. President and CEO, Paul Pinchbeck says it’s about celebrating Canada’s winters and promoting the fun and adventure you can have on the slopes and trails across the country. He points out there are 240 active ski areas across Canada from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island.
Pinchbeck explains that the Ski Council’s primary purpose is to encourage people to get out, be active during winter, because so many people like to hibernate, and if you’re going to be active in winter, the Council hopes you will try alpine and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. Their website states that last winter was a record setter for the Canadian industry, with skier visits at over 21 million.
Winter is a reality in Canada, so Pinchbeck invites everyone to embrace it, and if you do go out to celebrate National Ski and Snowboard Day tomorrow, he invites you to share your adventures tomorrow on social media with the hashtags #goskiinggosnowboarding, #nationalskiandsnowboardday.
