The 2025 Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Program was announced with little fanfare on Wednesday morning.
In previous years, the Agriculture Minister would travel to the Crop Insurance Head Office in Melville and hold an online news conference with provincial agricultural reporters.
This year, Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison is wrapping up a trade mission to India and the United Arab Emirates and was unavailable.
This year’s Crop Insurance does not contain any new programs, nor were any average provincial premium or coverage levels calculated. Crop Insurance CEO Jeff Morrow explains why.
Coverage levels are down due to lower commodity prices—with lentils being the exception.

Customers will be able to view their individual information next Monday online at CropConnect. March 31st is the deadline for producers to apply, reinstate or cancel their Crop Insurance contract. Producers can speak with their local SCIC office to make changes or options will remain the same as the previous year.
