Key Lake, Saskatchewan was the cold spot in Canada Monday at -48.8 degrees and this morning at -44.9 degrees Last Mountain, Saskatchewan is the cold spot in the country. Nineteen new daily minimum temperature records were set on Monday including Saskatoon at -40.6 which beat out a cold weather record set 122 years ago in 1903. Moose Jaw at -39.2 and Indian Head where the mercury dipped to -40.4 also broke records in those two communities set back in 1903.
These extremely cold conditions worsened over the province overnight
and into Monday, with many more daily low temperature records being
set on February 17, 2025 (temperatures listed in degrees Celsius).
