The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is urging business and trade leaders to recognize First Nations’ economic sovereignty when discussing trade relations with the United States.
A release from FSIN states that Canada’s newly appointed federal advisory council on Canada-U.S. relations fails to include Indigenous leaders from each province.
Chief Bobby Cameron states that regardless of what happens with impending 25 per cent tariffs, First Nations will continue to travel freely across the border without any restrictions or delays.
He calls for the continued respect of that right so they can continue to strengthen the economic future of their nations.
