Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating after four people were found dead on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation, east of Regina Tuesday.
Around 11:15 Tuesday morning, File Hills First Nations Police Service were alerted about a sudden death at a home on the Nakoda Nation and when they arrived, four people were found dead inside. About four hours later, the RCMP received multiple reports of a man pointing a gun at individuals on Zagime Anishinabek (formerly known as Sakimay First Nation).
Shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning RCMP issued an advisory indicating Keagan Panipekeesick had been arrested by Regina Police Service in Regina. Earlier Tuesday evening, RCMP had asked for the public’s help in locating Panipekeesick because they believe he was the suspect who pointed a firearm on Zagime Anishinabek. They also said it’s unconfirmed if he is also connected with the deaths on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
