A woman, reportedly hit in the head with a hammer, was transferred from Prince Albert’s Victoria hospital to Saskatoon’s RUH with serious injuries.
Police responded to a report of a woman who had been attacked. The call came from a hotel in Prince Albert in the 3200 block of 2nd Avenue West around 7:00 p.m. Monday night. After locating the victim, two children who were with the woman were also on scene and taken into the care of Mobile Crisis.
Officers immediately began searching for a suspect but initially didn’t track him down however a suspect was located in the same area around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
A 24-year-old man is in court Tuesday charged with aggravated assault, choking and forcible confinement.
