Those looking for some outdoor winter fun can register for the 1st annual Hawood Inn Cross Country Ski and Winter Festival taking place this weekend at Prince Albert National Park.

Lynn Flury, who’s in charge of the event’s marketing, says Friday kicks off with a wine tasting, appetizers, and a social hour. “Saturday there’s just fun ski events… We have some ski lessons. We’ve got a guided snowshoe trek, we’ve got an indoor games room, so people can come inside and warm up, even though the weather looks beautiful.” There will be a dinner to follow, as well as some prize giveaways and a Lisa Moen concert.

Sunday brings a Skiers Breakfast and more outdoor fun. “It’s definitely open to families. The kids are welcome for the Friday night, for the banquet, concert, for all of the events, the games room, a couple of the ski events. Kids will have a blast, as well.”
