The average retail price for gas in Saskatoon has risen just over 4 cents a litre in the past week, with an average price of $1.50.82 on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s survey. Regina’s price for gas rose by less than half a cent, at $1.45.63 cents a litre. The national average is an almost 3 cents a litre increase, sitting at $1.50.72 cents a litre.
Head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan, says oil prices are on the rise, driven by optimism that China’s recent economic policy shifts could boost oil demand. He forecasts slight increases at the pump in the weeks ahead, before the largest seasonal spike begins in mid-to-late February.
