Fifty-eight Saskatchewan communities will benefit from 165 grants from the Community Initiatives Fund.
The CIF has allocated over $2.9 million to these communities, in an effort to enhance the quality of life for residents.
This year’s grants have a focus on promoting responsiveness and creativity, as well as promoting positive mental health, self-esteem, and healthy lifestyle choices.
For example, the Estevan Public Youth Centre has received a $21 thousand grant for a Drop-in Program. Humboldt’s St. Dominic School is able to have a Breakfast Program through a $10,000 grant, and the Saskatoon Food Bank is able to provide Trauma Informed Training with a $12,300 grant.
The CIF is funded through a portion of the net profits from the casinos in Moose Jaw and Regina.
