A suspension and rescheduling of service and a call to the public for help from the City of Saskatoon when it comes to curbside collections.
Due to road conditions and inaccessible lanes, curbside collections have been suspended today for garbage, recycling and organics pick up.
If you were scheduled for a pick up today, put the bin out on Saturday November 30th by 7 a.m. for pick up, as follows…
Black Cart (Garbage Route 1) affected areas include Avalon, Buena Vista, Exhibition, Haultain, Nutana, Queen Elizabeth.
Blue Cart (Recycling Route 4) which impacts Briarwood, College Park, College Park East, Lakeridge, Lakewood Urban Centre, Rosewood.
Green Cart (Organics Route 2) Adelaide/Churchill, Holliston, Nutana Park, Stonebridge, The Willows
Meanwhile, collections will continue as scheduled for the remainder of this week. City crews will be driving down back lanes for neighbourhoods on Routes 1 and 2 only, prior to waste collection trucks arriving, allowing for snow in the lanes to be packed down and lessening the risk of the trucks getting stuck.
In addition, in a news release, the City is reminding residents to clear away any accumulated snow around your carts and ensure that the lids are free from ice and snow, allowing them to close securely.
As for successful collections following the recent pair of significant snowfalls, residents are asked to place carts in front of, or four feet to the side of, snowbanks to ensure collection truck arms can access the carts.
