Beverley Mahood and Brad Johner will be back for their 28th years to improve lives by raising money to purchase mobility and medical equipment, fund travel costs for medical treatment in other provinces and home renovations to improve quality of life.
Mahood and Johner will be joined by dozens of talented performers from every corner of Saskatchewan. New cast members include Tenille Arts (country music artist from Weyburn), Ashley Callingbull (Miss Universe Canada from the Enoch Cree Nation), and Shailynn Taylor (disability advocate and motivational speaker from Moose Jaw).
The 20-hour telethon—organized by the Kinsmen Foundation— will also feature impact stories from people who have benefitted through the generosity of TeleMiracle donors.
TeleMiracle has raised more than $165 million over the past 49 years as viewers respond to the call of “ring those phones.” TeleMiracle 48 raised $6,112,717.
“TeleMiracle is woven into the fabric of our province,” said Terri Troupe-Logue, chair of TeleMiracle 49. “The money raised here, stays in Saskatchewan. This is why TeleMiracle is so important, because we can be there for people when all other options for funding is unavailable.”
Kinsmen TeleMiracle 49 will begin at 9pm Saturday, March 1st on Saskatchewan CTV stations and online at www.telemiracle.com. As usual, the final fundraising total will be announced on the following afternoon at 5pm.
