Bath and Body Works has pulled its new holiday scented candle from store shelves after it received backlash for the imaging used on it.
Intended to be a snowflake, shoppers pointed out that the design on the candles packaging resembles hoods worn by Ku Klux Klan members. The KKK is a United States-based white supremacist group formed in 1865 to inflict violence against Black Americans.
According to an analyst, the company’s holiday-scented candles make up nearly 40 per cent of its annual sales.
