The Saskatoon Public Library Board of Trustees has announced that the new director of Libraries and CEO is Carol Shepstone, as of November 4th.
Shepstone’s care began in Saskatchewan at the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library in Prince Albert.
She was Head of Access Services at USask, then University Librarian at Mount Royal in Calgary, where she led the team responsible for building the Riddell Library and Learning Centre, and most recently, she completed a five-year term as Chief Librarian at Toronto Metropolitan University.
She says she is thrilled to be returning to Saskatoon, especially at such an exciting time for Saskatoon Public Library and the city.
A news release from the Saskatoon Public Library says the appointment comes at a pivotal time, with work on the New Central Library, set to open in 2027, well underway.
