Police and peace officers from across the province are gathering in Regina tomorrow (Sun) for the annual Saskatchewan Police and Peace Officers Memorial.
It’s held at the Legislature every year on the last day of September, as proclaimed by the Government of Canada back in 1998 as a formal National Memorial Day to give Canadians an opportunity to express their appreciation for police and peace officers who make the ultimate, tragic sacrifice to keep communities safe.
Since 2004, there has been a province event with a parade and ceremony in Regina.
All active and retired police and peace officers are welcome to participate in the parade and the public is invited to gather along the parade route and in front of the Legislative Building for the reading of the Honour Roll and the wreath laying ceremony.
