SaskTel has announced that 5G service has expanded to over 50 rural and Indigenous communities and highway corridor cell sites.
The 5G expansion sites include Elbow, Lac La Ronge First Nation, James Smith Cree Nation, Wakaw and the Saskatchewan Landing.
A SaskTel news release says 5G means higher data speeds and other future benefits include massive network capacity and ultra-low latency.
It also supports technological advancements in remote healthcare, online learning, agriculture, and transportation among others.
