Several regions of the province received quite the downpour over the last few days, with the most rain falling in the southwest.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Steven Berg says Cypress Hills was hit hardest with 50-90 mm of rain, depending on the area. Regina also saw a lot of moisture.
“Regina has quite a storm a couple days ago. They had anywhere between 30-50 mm of rain measured at their airport stations and climate stations.”
Several areas of the northern grain belt were soaked, as well, with the region from Spiritwood-west getting about 44 mm. North Battleford had roughly 46-48mm of rain.
In Saskatoon, on the other hand, only 13 mm were reported at the city’s Climate Centre. Volunteer observers recorded 25-30 mm.
A tornado touched down near Moosomin on Wednesday, however Berg says the damage assessment and strength level have yet to be determined. That tornado is pictured below.
Looking ahead, Berg says system moving in from Alberta is expected to bring 10-15 mm, mainly to the areas surrounding Kindersley, Leader, and the Battlefords.
