Four males, two adults and two youths, have been charged in connection with an assault of another man in the early morning hours of September 5 in Yorkton.
According to a Saskatchewan RCMP news release, the Yorkton detachment were called to a business in the 100 block of Broadway Street where officers located an adult male with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital for treatment. Following additional investigation by Yorkton RCMP and the Yorkton Municipal General Investigation Section, the two youths were arrested on September 13th and remain in custody. They cannot be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but are both charged with robbery with a weapon and aggravated assault. One of the youths was also charged with disguise with intent. As for the adult males, 20-year-old Derrick Brass (pictured) of the Kamsack area has yet to be located and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is described as being 5’5″ inches tall, weighing 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Kamsack area with the public urged to not approach Brass if you see him, but to contact police immediately. Brass and 30-year-old Michael Weber, also from the Kamsack area, both face charges of robbery with a weapon and aggravated assault. Weber was arrested on September 5 and appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court the next day. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on September 23.
