The Royal Canadian Mint, to honour the 50th anniversary of a UFO sighting near Langenburg, has released a special collector coin.
In a coin description on at TheMint.ca the coin is the seventh unusual encounter re-told as part of the Royal Canadian Mint’s Canada’s Unexplained Phenomena Series of coins.
The description says that on September 1st, 1974, a farmer was swathing his field near Langenburg.
“When he noticed five highly polished, steel-like objects at the edge of a slough. Upon closer look, he noticed these unusual saucer-shaped objects were rotating rapidly and hovering just above the ground. He continued to observe them until they suddenly rose up, emitting a strange vapour as they silently disappeared into the sky.”
According to the RCMP incident report they left behind five different distinct circles. According to the Town of Langenburg website the farmer was Edwin Fuhr, and it also indicates the area where the objects landed became extremely radioactive.
