A week from today, thousands of Canadians will be lacing up their running shoes and taking part in the 44th annual Terry Fox Run.
Organizer of Saskatoon’s Terry Fox Run, Anthony Wood, says the run will begin on September 15 at the Delta Bessborough Gardens. Registration begins at 11:00, with the run commencing at noon.
There are 1, 3, 5 and 10 kilometre running options, which all take a loop along the river. Participants can walk, run, wheel, ride their bike, and even rollerblade.
Wood says there is a big focus on coming together as a community to raise money to support cancer research. Last year, over 255 runners came out, and $37,000 was raised.
Volunteers are needed to guide participants along the course route, as well as attend the water stations.
You can register for the run, volunteer, and pledge donations at terryfox.org.
