Three unanswered third period goals gave the Brandon Wheat Kings a 6-3 victory over the Saskatoon Blades Sunday at SaskTel Centre.
Although three months shy of his 16th birthday, Jaxon Jacobson paced the Wheaties, breaking a 3-3 tie just 93 seconds into the third period. The Brandon product also had two assists as the Wheat Kings swept a pre-season home-and-home series with the Bridge City Bunch, who are now 0-for-3 in dress rehearsals, ahead of the 2024-25 W-H-L regular-season. Tyler Parr scored twice for the Blue and Gold with 20-year-old defenceman Grayden Siepmann also tallying. Newcomer centre Ben Riche chipped in a pair of helpers for the Blades, who were out-shot 39-27. Saskatoon will look for their first exhibition win Friday when they visit the Prince Albert Raiders, then close out the pre-season Saturday against P-A in an annual contest in Warman. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, plus Post-Game Show interviews with head coach Dan Da Silva and Parr, as well as the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L…..
