You may have noticed the price of fuel slowly easing downward.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.com says with the summer driving season now over, motorists can look forward to more drops at the pump as demand drops seasonally and the changeover to cheaper winter gasoline is just two weeks away.
De Haan says, “As long as we don’t see a major hurricane head into the Gulf and the situation improves in the Middle East, the national average could fall below $1.50/L in the next couple of weeks- GasBuddy is already tracking two provinces at that level or lower.”
He does caution that diesel prices may rise with winter growing closer and an expected rebound in the economy.
Average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon have fallen 3.4 c/L in the past week, averaging 153.47 c/L Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 81 gas outlets in Saskatoon and that’s just slightly lower than the national average.
