There have been arrests in connection to the car fire in Regina Monday morning. Area residents thought they heard an explosion.

The Regina Police Service says officers en route to another call saw a vehicle on fire in the parking lot area of Mount Pleasant Sports Park. Police located several young people on scene.

A 14-year-old male has been arrested and charged with Arson Causing Damage to Property. The vehicle was also stolen, and 29-year-old Cheyenne Dawn Khanapace of Regina is charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle.

Both are in court today (Tuesday).
