Because the province has had rain and cooler weather recently, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency has rescinded its provincial fire ban as of noon today (Fri). The ban covered Crown lands, provincial parks, provincial recreation sites north of the provincial forest boundary, along with the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District.
The SPSA reminds the public though, that individual provincial parks, or municipalities and R.M.s may still have their own local fire bans or restrictions. Vice-President of Operations, Steve Roberts says the rain Thursday night and expected rain in the forecast this weekend across the northern provincial forest swill bring fire hazards down in that area.
