The body of a missing paddleboarder at Douglas Provincial Park has been found. Sunday around 12:45 p.m., Outlook RCMP received a report of that the man went missing at the boat launch on Lake Diefenbaker.
RCMP said an adult male entered the water and did not emerge. The man was recovered from the water later in the afternoon and was pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. RCMP say they are not providing the age and home community of the man at this time as next-of-kin notification is ongoing.
The Elbow Fire Department and the Saskatchewan Protection and Response Team also assisted at the scene.
Meanwhile, a canoer that went missing last Wednesday on Helene Lake was located deceased Saturday around 5:00 p.m.
Turtleford/Glaslyn RCMP said a canoe tipped over near a boat launch on Helene Lake Wednesday night round 9:30 and one of the people in the canoe, a teen boy, didn’t resurface. The teen was located by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team in the water near the area where he was last seen.
Unity RCMP and Glaslyn Fire and Rescue assisted with the investigation.
