Saskatoon Police Service Major Crimes Section as well as the Collision Analyst Unit and Forensic Identification Section are investigating a fatal accident that occurred early Saturday morning in Saskatoon.
At 5:50 a.m. police issued an advisory indicating traffic restrictions at Warman Road overpass and Circle Drive North. Those restrictions were lifted shortly before noon on Saturday.
Saskatoon Police say at approximately 3:12 a.m. officers responded to reports of a deceased male located on Warman Road near Circle Drive. Upon further investigation, officers learned a car was travelling northbound on Warman Road when it collided with a man riding an electric scooter. The 25-year-old man operating the scooter succumbed to his injuries.
The 38-year-old male driver of the car was arrested and is facing charges relating to fleeing the scene of an accident, operate a motor vehicle while impaired and operate a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding .08 causing death.
