If she wasn’t the face of the first-ever Y-X-E Urban Games before May 20, Paige Crozon would definitely be able to fill that role now!
On May 20, Crozon sank the game-winning shot that propelled her and Canadian team-mates Katherine Plouffe, Michelle Plouffe and Kacie Bosch to a berth in women’s three-on-three basketball at the Summer Olympics in Paris next month. Canada beat host Hungary in the last qualification game to be a part of the field at the Games. The Olympic women’s three-on-three basketball event starts July 30. The Canadian team will be a part of the Y-X-E Urban Games between August 16-18. Following is a media scrum with Paige Crozon…..
Three other Saskatchewan athletes have qualified for the Paris Olympics – artisitic swimmers Sydney Carroll of Saskatoon and Kenzie Priddell of Regina plus Saskatoon swimmer Blake Tierney. Tierney qualified by setting a new Canadian record in the men’s 200-metre backstroke at the 2024 Canadian Olympic and Paralympic swim trials in Toronto. He also won the 100-metre backstroke in provincial record time and was named today as the Sask Sport Athlete-of-the-Month for May. Following are news releases from Discover Saskatoon and SaskSport…..
