SaskTel’s rollout of its 5G wireless network has reached the halfway mark of completion, with more than 520 cell sites covering close to 85% of Saskatchewan residents.
The project, which began in Regina in 2021, aims to deliver hyper-fast data speeds reaching up to 1.2 Gigabits per second to customers.
In a news release, SaskTel says the continually growing network will support technological advancements in remote healthcare, education, agriculture, and resource management.
The expansion is a result of the $440 million investment the company has made in the province throughout 2024/25, as well as $2 billion over the next five years.
