On June 5, police and public safety partners conducted a one-day traffic project focused on light vehicle inspections and enforcement. A total of 48 vehicles were stopped for inspection at two locations in Saskatoon. This resulted in 42 vehicle inspections totaling 122 violations to be addressed, 19 vehicles placed out-of-service, 13 vehicles sent for further inspections, and five vehicles weighed.
Police also issued tickets for an unaccompanied learner driver, a suspended driver, failure to complete a pre-trip inspection on a commercial vehicle, failure to produce a license, unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, and three vehicle equipment regulations.
In addition, three drivers also tested positive for THC. Their licenses were suspended, and vehicles impounded.
