An interesting and busy off-season for the Saskatoon Blades was kick-started Thursday with a one-for-one player trade with Victoria.
The Bridge City Bunch dealt Rosetown product and winger Vaughn Watterodt (pictured) to the Royals for 19-year-old centre Ben Riche. Watterodt was acquired by the Blue and Gold from Kamloops in November of 2021 and played 173 games with 32 goals amongst 73 points as a Blade. He was one of 11, 2004-born players to finish this past season with Saskatoon. The Bridge City Bunch can only keep three on the roster next season beyond October 10th. Riche, who is a Bethune product, notched 15 goals amongst 35 points between Moose Jaw and Victoria this past season. Following is the news release from the Blue and Gold…..
