It was the first May in several years for above normal precipitation in nearly every corner of Saskatchewan.
Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Terri Lang says it was wetter than usual in 10 of the 11 reporting centres, with only Key Lake in northern Saskatchewan following short. La Ronge, Meadow Lake and North Battleford all had top ten Mays for precipitation.

There were fewer lightning strikes last month at just over 18,000, or 83 per cent of average.
In terms of temperature, May was mostly average with the exception of the far north.
