It costs about $21-million annually to operate the air ambulance bases in Saskatoon and Regina, with the STARS Foundation raising about half the total through fundraisers and donations. The other 50 per cent comes from the Government of Saskatchewan.
The STARS Lottery generates over one-third of the fundraising total each year. The 24-hour-a-day service transports seriously injured or sick patients from rural and remote areas to hospitals in Saskatoon and Regina.
This year’s STARS Lottery will feature $3.6 million in prizes, including million-dollars homes in Saskatoon and Regina. There are a wide range of ticket purchasing options such as the Home Lotto, 50/50 draw and the STARS Daily Cash, featuring 40 daily draws of $10,000 each.
