Five female entrepreneurs will promote the various programs offered by Women Entrepreneurs Saskatchewan (WESK) to current and aspiring women business owners in rural areas. These program offers opportunities to start, grow or scale a business in a smaller centre or even on a farm.
This is WESK Chief Executive Officer, Miriam Johnson speaking after a Tuesday morning news conference in Saskatoon.
Johnson says they provide female entrepreneurs with resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities—plus the opportunities for financing if required.
Johnson believes there are many women in rural Saskatchewan that can use their services.
The five rural ambassadors are Ashley Drummond, Moose Jaw; Faith Buhs (bush), Watson; Danitra Laverdiere, Swift Current; Lisa Haynes, Biggar; and Marea Olafson, Dafoe.
The new Rural Ambassador Program is funded with $450,000 through Prairie Economic Development Canada.
