If you get a text claiming you have a speeding ticket in a school zone – it’s a scam.
The Saskatoon Police Service says the scam sends a text message to people claiming to be the Saskatchewan Traffic Safety Bureau and says their vehicle was captured speeding in a designated school zone. It then asks people to click a link, so they don’t need to attend court.
Residents are being advised to block the number and ignore the text. Do not click the link or make any payments to this website. The Saskatoon Police Service will never send a text message regarding payments of any kind.
Saskatoon Police say if you have been a victim of any fraud or scam, please report it by calling 306-975-8300. The scam can also be reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
