It’s my Parting Shot for my Monday Musings…..
Remember who said, back on April 26th in this commentary, “there’s not a lot to choose from between two “stacked” squads. But, I’m going with Saskatoon in seven games!
What I wasn’t counting on was five of the first six games going to overtime! But, it has meant high drama and tremendous excitement and entertainment value!
At the risk of angering one of my fans, note the sarcasm, who accuses me of begging for people to attend Blades’ games and that the 30-dollar admission price isn’t worth the money, so I’ll just say that tomorrow night will be the first time ever in Blades’ franchise history that they will be the home team for a Game 7 in a W-H-L series this late into the playoffs! The rest is up to you potential ticket buyers – attend a Game 7 that could go into overtime again and make for a late night going into a work/school day on Wednesday!
By the way, said “fan” of mine calls once or twice a year to try and dress me down and have me fired and sent back home to Winnipeg! I know I’m not everybody’s flavour favourite!
Speaking of not being everybody’s flavour favourite, the Toronto media and Maple Leafs’ fans are having a field day with Sheldon Keefe’s comments following the Buds 2-1 overtime loss in Boston in Game 7 on Saturday. His saying, quote, when teams play the Leafs, they set up the game for the Leafs to beat themselves, is getting massive play with most people saying that the Toronto head coach, for now, essentially said he gets out-coached regularly because he can’t find a way to make in-game adjustments for his team to win. I can agree with that, but I think he said that to grease the skids for his ouster so that he can join his buddy Kyle Dubas in Pittsburgh as the Penguins’ head coach. I wonder what Sidney Crosby, Geno Malkin, Kris Letang and Erik Karlsson would think about that possibility?! That’s a rhetorical question, speaking of sarcasm!
That’s my Parting Shot. I’m Les Lazaruk…and it turned out nice again!…..
