Look at the world’s most valuable public companies based on market capitalization, meaning the total dollar market value of a company’s outstanding shares. Number 1 is Microsoft, with a market cap of just over $3 Trillion U.S. It has the Windows line of operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, Edge web browser, the Xbox video game consoles and a lineup of personal computers. Number 2 valued at $2.69 Trillion U.S. is Apple, another multinational corporation and technology company that designs, develops and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. Apple devices include the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Vision Pro and Apple TV. Number 3 is Nvidia at $2.19 Trillion U.S. On top of supplying software for data science, high-performance computing and chip systems for mobile computing and the automotive market, Nvidia is also a dominant supplier of artificial intelligence hardware and software. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is # 4 with a $2 Trillion U.S. market cap. Google is oft referred to as the most powerful company in the world and one of the world’s most valuable brands. By the way, Amazon has a $1.88 Trillion U.S. market cap and Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram among other products and services is valued at $1.1 Trillion U.S. I’m reminded why the United States has the world’s #1 economy and is so technologically powerful. All these companies are American.
