The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on MPs to vote in favour of today’s (Wed) motion to cancel the April 1st carbon tax increase. CTF’s Federal Director , Franco Terrazzano, says Canadians overwhelmingly oppose the carbon tax hike. As of April 1st, the tax will cost 17 cents per litre of gas, 21 cents per litre of diesel and 15 cents per cubic metre of natural gas. Terrazzano cites a Parliamentary Budget Officer report, which states that the cost to an average family will be up to $900 more than they get back in rebates.
