Saskatoon Police have arrested and charged two pre-teen boys in connection to the investigation into the city’s fifth homicide of the year.
In the early morning hours on Monday, patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of Matheson Drive about a 12-year-old boy who had been seriously injured. He was transported to hospital by ambulance, but later died.
The Saskatoon Police Service reported at the time that three suspects, two youths and an adult were in custody. Now, police say two boys, 12 and 13 years old, are charged with manslaughter and are also facing four weapons-related offences. There are no other details at this time.
There have been five homicides in two weeks in Saskatoon and three of them took place on the Family Day long weekend.
