Steamfast, Sharper Image and Vornado brand handheld garment steamers are being recalled for their potential to burn users.
The steamers have been found to expel hot water from the steam nozzle while heating during use, posing a potential burn hazard.
As of January 24, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada, however in the United States, the company has received 122 reports of hot water spraying or spitting from the steam nozzle, including 23 reports of injuries.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled models of the steamers and contact Vornado for a refund.
Affected models include:
Steamfast model numbers SF-425, SF-435, SF-440, SF-445, and SF-447;
Vornado model number VS-410; and
Sharper Image model number SI-428.
