Family Service Saskatoon can now support more people, thanks to donations made during the CJWW Radiothon. The grand total of money raised on both Thursday and Friday was $85,841.
Executive Director of the not-for-profit organization, Janine Baumann says the money will be used to help those in the community who otherwise don’t have access to these services or are on a waiting list to receive them.
“With donations like this, we can get them in, see them, help them on their journey to having positive mental health,” Baumann beams.
In 2022-23, over 3,800 people accessed services from Family Service Saskatoon, including individual and group counselling, services for youth, and domestic and intimate partner violence support.
Also, during that time, 609 children and 633 youth accessed services, 21 people participated in group sessions, and 1,793 referrals were made to community supports.
Baumann says all the money raised helps to make sure services are available at low cost or no cost.
“We so appreciate everyone in our community. It doesn’t matter the size of the donation. We will use that money to help reach out to those who need the services the most. So, thank you. So very, very thankful. Thank you.”
