Greg Lawrence has resigned from the Saskatchewan Party caucus.

A short news release issued late Tuesday afternoon says the decision comes as “an active police investigation is occurring into historical complaints unrelated to his duties as an MLA for Moose Jaw Wakamow.”

Lawrence will sit as an independent MLA and is fully co-operating with the police investigation. The nature of that investigation was not revealed.

Lawrence had previously announced he would not be running in the next provincial election due to health concerns. He was involved in a single vehicle motorcycle accident last summer in Moose Jaw.
