Saskatchewan had the third lowest increase in earnings from November of 2022 to 23, according to Statistics Canada. Saskatchewan’s wage increase, including overtime, was 1.9 per cent year over year, while Alberta’s was 1.8 and wages in the Northwest Territories went down by a half per cent. The highest increase was Nova Scotia at 6.2 per cent.
Across all wage-earning jobs, the average increase was 4.1 per cent, but breaking it down into sectors, management of companies and enterprises had the highest increase at 12.1 per cent. On the other end, real estate, rental and leasing experienced a wage loss of 8.5 per cent.
