Finance committee to discuss land purchase for new Fire Hall

Acquiring land for fire station No. 11 is on the agenda at tomorrow’s (Wed) Finance meeting at City Hall. Administration is recommending approval of the purchase of a portion of land at 2502 Dawes Avenue for $330,000, plus $25,000 for legal and subdivision fees for the site of Fire Station No. 11. The plot of land in the Southwest Industrial Area would be 0.44 acres.

The report from Administration states that a new Fire Station along Dawes Avenue would significantly improve first in response to Montgomery Place, Southwest Industrial, Holiday Park, Meadowgreen, West Industrial, Pleasant Hill, King George, Fairhaven, Agpro Industrial, and CN Yards Management Area.
