The provincial government’s respiratory illness report released today (Fri) shows that 13 people died with influenza and one person died with Covid-19 between December 3rd and December 16th.
The person who died with Covid was in the 60 or older age category.
The number of COVID-19 cases continued to decline for the fifth consecutive week. From December 9th to the 16th, there were 262 reported cases of Covid, compared to 307 the week prior.
There were 1445 positive cases of Influenza in this reporting period, which is 45 less cases than there were in the period before it. Influenza hospitalizations have decreased from 286 in the previous reporting period to 202 for the most recent two weeks.
As for RSV, hospitalizations have remained stable at 20 for the previous two weeks and 19 for the most recent two weeks.
Since March of 2020, the Health Ministry reports there have been 2,032 deaths related to COVID.
