RCMP conducted a December 13th traffic stop of a speeding vehicle on the Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head, Lean Man First Nation—located about 25 kilometres south of North Battleford.
Officers report two passengers were arrested without incident while the driver initially resisted but was also taken into custody.
A photo submitted in an RCMP news release shows a loaded and modified semi-automatic firearm. A high capacity magazine was also recovered in the back of the car.
Thirty-five-year old Perry Wuttunee from the Red Pheasant First Nation is charged with fifteen offenses, including two counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Two other Red Pheasant First Nation residents, 22-year-old Darian Whitford and 31-year-old Tyrone Paskimin are charged with ten firearms-related offenses.
